A couple years ago, I came across the term ‘skinny-fat’, which describes someone that is thin, but doesn’t have a lot of muscle mass- they basically have a high percentage of body fat despite being thin. So basically, they’re thin but kind of flabby. My stomach kind of dropped because I realized this was me. I’ve always been really thin, but never strong (aka I realized that I was skinny-fat). I feel like coming across that term was a little bit of a wakeup call, because I realized that I was 20 years old and that I’d never have such a young body ever again. I kind of said to myself “If I can’t put in the effort to get a little more toned and strong now, while I’m SO young, it’s only going to get harder as I get older.” Since then, I’ve actually started lifting weights and working out, and progressing from being skinny fat to actually getting toned. I’ve also started getting super interested in trying out all the different health fads out there. I’m not talking juice cleanses or appetite suppressants or other scams- I mean eating plans or fitness routines that actually have potential to make me a healthier person. I’ll be posting about my experiences with these different health fads in this section!
